We offer inshore, near shore, and offshore fishing. With different fishing techniques offered, you are sure to enjoy your time!

Inshore

Inshore trips will consist of fishing in the bays, and ICW (intercoastal water ways). Typical species targeted are Reds, Black Drum, Trout and many other species.

Near shore

Nearshore trips will consist of fishing within state waters up to 9 miles offshore. Typical species targeted are smaller Snapper, Trigger Fish, Cobia, Shark, King and Spanish Mackerel, and many other species.

Offshore

Offshore trips will typically consist of fishing outside of state waters up to 70 plus miles offshore. Typical species targeted are Snapper, Grouper, Trigger Fish, Amber Jack, Cobia, Mahi, Dolphin, Pelagics, and many others species.

All trips include:

  • Fishing License

  • Bait, Tackle, and Ice

  • Bottled Water

Not Included:

  • Sunblock *SPRAY SUNSCREEN PROHIBITED

  • Food/snacks and Beverages

  • Gratuity for deck hand (typically 20%)

    Owner of Mossy Tails Charters, LLC and operator of the Ray Marie, David has been off shore fishing for 16 years targeting red snapper, trigger, and many other pelagic fish. He decided to turn his dream into a reality and make fishing his career.

  • Robbie Pope

    Captain

    Robbie is the captain of the Southern Seacret. He is also first mate and a huge asset to Mossy Tails Charters. He is very knowledgeable and has been saltwater fishing for many years. Robbie will make sure every trip is enjoyable.

The Boat

The Ray Marie is a 2022 Twin Vee 310GF. The Twin Vee is said to be “the best riding boat on the ocean.” Powered by twin 300HP Suzuki engines the PowerCat offers an unparalleled stable ride. With the large deck space and over 30 rod holders you can truly fish 360 degrees all around the boat!

POLICIES

 

  • A 20% deposit is required for booking a trip. The deposit will be non-refundable, if notice of cancellation has not been made within 72 hrs of the day of trip. If using a credit card there will be a 3% charge added. The remaining balance will be paid before leaving the dock, in cash or with a card.

  • Cancellations made by customer should be made no later than 72 hrs before the day of trip. If cancellations are made prior to the cancellation window, the trips can be rescheduled. The captain makes the calls on canceling due to inclement weather or sea conditions. In the unlikely event that the captain has to cancel for any reason, the deposit will be reimbursed, or if you wish, can be rescheduled. Failure to show up on the day of the charter will result in a paid in full charge.

  • The captain has a few rules that must be followed.

    *SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER 1 PRIORTY AT MOSSYTAILS.

    *Kids will wear PFD’S

    *If anyone gets unruly, or out of control, and is not listening to the captains orders, the captain will return to shore, and the trip will not be reimbursed. (everyone deserves to have a good time, but being unruly is not safe)

    *There will be a safety breifing before we leave the dock.

    *No spray sunscreen

    *No jumping out of the boat into the water

    *Stay Seated while under way

    *Allow captain or crew, to remove hooks from fish and bait the hooks.

    *Be aware of tackle and sharp objects on the boat.
